Haverhill Foodbank
Haverhill Food bank was officially launched in October 2008 in partnership with the Trussell Trust and Haverhill and District Churches Together (HDCT).
It only takes a change in circumstances; for example, loss of job, benefit cut or benefits delay and families already struggling to make ends meet either have to borrow money for food, or go without.
We at the Haverhill Food Bank are looking to help bridge the gap with food for a family or individual for at least 3 days or until other agencies or services becomes available. Our aim is to provide a safety net for unexpected crisis and we work closely with other agencies, i.e. Family Support Workers, Health Visitors and Social Services.
All the food is donated from the general public – individuals as well as schools, churches and other organisations. The food is of the non perishable variety, for example… Long life milk, tomatoes, soups, tinned vegetables, tinned meat, tinned potatoes, tinned fruit, tinned rice pudding, pasta/rice, fruit juice, tea, coffee & sugar etc.
Donated food can be taken to Next Door Coffee Shop during opening hours 10am-2pm Monday- Friday & 11am-1pm on Saturdays. (Next Door is next door to Haverhill Methodist Church on Camps Road – CB9 9HF, 01440 705972)
